We start our Tasty Days with a 4-course menu on the theme of wine and food. Our wines from the Sommeracher Katzenkopf are characterised by a particularly long-lasting and mineral character. But what actually happens to the wines and the food when you skilfully combine wine and food? On this evening, we will take exotic wines and rarities out of the treasure trove and experiment with selected dishes.
On Saturday we start with the basics of sensory analysis. Tasting, describing, sniffing. How do you do this properly, how do you talk about it, which grape varieties are there and what is actually a lead flavour? We will expand your knowledge of wine sensory analysis and then put it into practice in the afternoon. After a hearty snack, you can practise a little more during a small tasting session before the blind tasting begins. Here we taste our wines in different flights against international representatives. Can you taste, smell and see the difference?
In the afternoon you will get to know our co-operative that thinks differently in the vineyard and cellar. We think differently! But where and how is this noticeable? How do our winegrowers work in the vineyards and what is so special about it? Then we venture a look into our wine cellar. Here, too, we accept no compromises. Our vinification is carried out carefully and without corrective intervention. But how do you do that? We also learn in an audiovisual way how the Sommeracher Katzenkopf got its name.
