Author Wolfgang Staudt reads from his new book "NEW WINE WAVE". He will be joined by winemakers Carsten Saalwächter and Stephan Krämer, who are portrayed in the book, as well as Griesel sparkling wine producer Niko Brandner, who will be presenting some of their wines. There will also be a snack from the vinocentral fresh food counter.
A wave is sweeping through European wine. It is getting bigger by the day, affecting more and more winegrowers in all parts of the continent. With respect for nature, cultural heritage and the artisanal traditions of generations, they have one goal clearly in mind: more authentic, more natural wines that unabashedly show the specialities of their origin.
In the process, unsuspected treasures are brought to light, long-forgotten grape varieties are discovered and new flavour dimensions are explored. The two authors Janek Schumann and Wolfgang Staudt have immersed themselves in this new movement and visited 101 winegrowers throughout Europe to find out how lively, diverse and rich in nuances the world of wine is today.
The literary wine tasting on Sunday 26 June at vinocentral offers the opportunity to meet the author Wolfgang Staudt and three of the winemakers portrayed in the book live. Carsten Saalwächter from Ingelheim/Rhine Hesse, Griesel sparkling wine producer Niko Brandner from the Hessische Bergstrasse and Stephan Krämer from Kraemer organic farming and viticulture in Franconia will be there.
The three will pour their wines and Wolfgang Staudt will read corresponding passages from the book. Culinary delicacies will round off the programme. At the end of the event, there will be an opportunity to purchase autographed copies of the book, which will be published by WESTEND Verlag Frankfurt a. M. in spring 2022.
The ticket price includes the wines served by the winegrowers and a snack from the vinocentral range.
