In the D.O. Ribera del Duero, Tempranillo grapes are cultivated on 95% of the 23,360 hectares of land. The Tempranillo grape variety is also known as Tinto Fino and originates from the northern Spanish wine-growing region. The dark and often berry fruit has more tannin and therefore more colour. The long ripening cycle on the plateau promotes a strong polymerisation of the tannins and therefore sweeter tannins.
