The Gaillac region is one of the oldest wine regions in France and historically one of the most exciting. Count Thun took the region to his heart 25 years ago and is represented here on the Plateau Cordais (the best site in the region). Together with his friend, Riccardo Cotarella, he has rediscovered the region's potential with his wines.
The Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Franc and Pinot Noir grape varieties he cultivates and develops represent the region's earlier indigenous vines. With these representative grape varieties, Graf Thun shows the wine potential of the region in his wines: La Maze (Merlot), La Tarabelle (Syrah), La Cabane (Cabernet Franc) and Pinot Noir.
