How is sake served correctly? What factors influence the flavour? What are the main styles and types? You will learn this and much more in our WSET® Level 1 Award in Sake.

The seminar is a beginner's level introduction to the world of sake - ideal for those looking for a career in the industry or for those with a passion for sake. On completion of the WSET® Level 1 Award in Sake, you will be able to list the main categories of sake, state their defining characteristics and apply the key principles of storage and service associated with sake.

The examination for the WSET Level 1 Award in Sake qualification consists of a questionnaire with 30 multiple-choice questions that must be answered within 45 minutes without any other aids. At least 70 per cent of all questions must be answered correctly to pass. The exam takes place directly after the course. Experience has shown that the results are sent out after approximately four weeks.

The WSET Level 1 Award in Sake or an equivalent level of experience is recommended as the basis for the advanced level of the WSET Level 3 Award in Sake.

Upon successful completion, participants will receive the internationally recognised WSET® Level 1 Award in Sake certificate and a lapel pin.
