30 years of vinocentral - that's three decades of lively company history in Darmstadt. Founded in 1993 by Alexander Marschall and Michael Bode-Böckenhauer in the beautiful premises of the former railway station hotel, the wine and speciality shop has developed into today's multiple award-winning specialist wine shop and wine gastronomy.
The originally purely Italian range now includes over 1,600 labels from 16 European countries. It was gradually expanded to include a coffee and wine bar, its own roastery and an online shop.
As the tasks grew, so did the team, which is still owner-managed: wine enthusiasts and students, baristas, coffee roasters, delicatessen salespersons, trainees and a logistics crew joined the numerous long-standing employees.
It is open six days a week - from early in the morning until late in the evening. There are regular jazz and wine events as well as online tastings. In short, there is always something going on at vinocentral: urban and familiar, multinational and inclusive.
This will be celebrated on Saturday, 8 July. among others, the sparkling wine and winemakers from the Hessische Bergstraße will be there: Griesel, Schloss Schönberg and Barnert & Drewitz. There will also be a presentation of wines from the Loire Valley and music by Triolog and DJ Kemal. The event starts at 6 pm. Free admission.
