The WSET® Level 1, Wines qualification is the perfect course for anyone who wants to get to grips with the subject of wine more intensively - both as a professional introduction or as a private wine lover. The course is aimed at people who have little or no previous knowledge of wine.
This qualification provides a structured introduction to the world of wine. You will learn about the main wine styles and how to describe them using the WSET Level 1 Systematic Tasting of Wine®. You will also learn about the relevant grape varieties. This will enable you to read and understand wine labels in the future. The storage and serving of wine and the theory of food and wine pairing will also be covered. You will rediscover the subject with a few simple rules.
After successful participation you will receive a WSET® certificate and a lapel pin.
Course materials
You will receive a WSET® Level 1 workbook approx. 2-4 weeks before the start of the course. This will be sent to you after payment of the course fee.
Performance assessment
30 multiple-choice questions, time: 45 minutes
No aids are permitted. 70% must be achieved to pass.
