The ÖTW Single Vineyard Summit will return in 2024 with a singular selection of wines from Austria’s top vineyards at historic Grafenegg castle, 60 km west of Vienna.
From 9 - 13 September, around 500 site-specific wines from all of Austria’s key regions will be unveiled to professionals at the tasting, organised by Traditional Wine Estates of Austria (ÖTW).
The premium winery grouping has 90 members spanning the regions around the Danube river and its tributaries: Kamptal, Kremstal, Traisental, Wagram, Wien (Vienna), Carnuntum, Thermenregion and the new member region of Weinviertel.
The centrepiece of the Single Vineyard Summit in 2024 will be the 109 Erste Lagen (Premier Cru) from all the ÖTW regions (excluding Weinviertel). Thermenregion will debut its ÖTW Erste Lage red wines and the summit will also feature single vineyard wines from the guest regions of Styria (STK wineries), Eisenberg, Leithaberg and the Wachau (Vinea Wachau).
First held in 2013, this multi-day tasting is renowned internationally for being professional, personalised and offering a once-a-year opportunity for participants to taste the latest vintages from Austria’s top single vineyards before they are released on the market.
Participants can choose their wines in advance and taste at their own pace in a ‘silent tasting’ format. An added bonus? The winemakers themselves traditionally present their wines at the former riding hall at Grafenegg in Lower Austria.
To ensure undisturbed concentration, admission is only granted at start of the pre-booked tasting slots, either at 9 am or 2 pm.
