This time, a visit to our famous wine tastings is doubly worthwhile, as not only one winery is doing the honours, but we have also been able to lure two wineries to us and invite them to present their wines: Weingut Nik Weis - St. Urbans-Hof from the Mosel-Saar and the Pfälzer Weingut Münzberg!
The two wineries already know each other very well, as this is not the first time they have met for a presentation. Both German wineries and members of the VDP (Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter) produce high-quality wines that are characterised by authenticity and could not be more terroir-driven; this is why we have added both wineries to our range. But that is also the only thing they have in common.
The Nik Weis - St. Urbanshof winery comes from the Mosel-Saar region and stands above all for THE German grape variety par excellence: the Riesling! After a spontaneous, large-scale tasting, we were able to savour a wide range of qualities of this grape and immediately fell in love with it. The wines are typical, crisp, taut, mineral, juicy and... simply run without any drinking resistance... so totally to our taste:)
The Münzberg winery, on the other hand, represents the Palatinate and specialises primarily in Burgundy grape varieties. But not the opulent style, but the one characterised by finesse, elegance, freshness and minerality. Again, exactly to our taste:)... yes, it's bad when you're as flexible as we are:P
This gives you the opportunity to taste 2 completely different styles in our shop, to be convinced of the quality and to satisfy your curiosity with the necessary background knowledge from the winery representatives.
If these aren't powerful arguments for making a note of this date in your diary and marking it with bright neon colours! Under no circumstances should you miss it!
